Brian Kilrea, Coach and GM 

Brian Kilrea played 15 seasons of pro hockey capturing three Calder Cup titles and playing 26 games for Detroit and Los Angeles. After retirement in 1970, Kilrea became head coach of the Ottawa 67's junior club, spending all but two of the next 31 years training future stars. Kilrea led the 67's to Memorial Cup titles in 1984 and 1999 while earning five Coach of the Year awards. During the 2002-03 season, he became the first junior coach to win 1,000 games and had the CHL Top Coach Award named in his honour. Brian was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003 in the Builder Inductee category.


Stuntman Stu,  Celebrity Chair

Stuntman Stu is a Montreal native who’s called Ottawa home since 1994. The Algonquin radio grad has been working at the Bear for 10 years and co-hosts the morning show. On the TV side, you can find Stu occasionally doing weather on CTV and hosting Ottawa Living on Rogers Television. Stu has been the stadium announcer at Renegades games, emcee's many golf tournaments and lends his support to numerous charities like CHEO, Cystic Fibrosis, and The Alzheimer society. In 2003 Stu was named Algonquin’s top alumni, and received a United Way community builder award in 2004.

 

Kevin Shields, President

Born and raised in Ottawa, Kevin became a member of The Ottawa Fire Service in 1999. Kevin has helped organize The Help Santa Toy Parade as well as Chair The Help Santa Golf Tournament in the past. As President of Firefighters For Kids his vision is to help out the kids in our community. His "You never know until you ask" mantra has helped make this event a reality. Kevin is a big kid at heart and this is one of the main reasons he put together this team. He wants to give back to the community what it once gave him. Kevin is Chairperson of the Brian Kilrea Help Kids Golf Classic.
